In a rather interesting development, one Abraham Kegnon, of Mpape, Abuja has been ordered by an Abuja Magistrates’ Court to pay N100,000 as compensation to a farmer for burning his yams. Magistrate Musa Jobbo gave the order when Kegnon pleaded guilty to the charge brought against him.The magistrate also instructed that Kegnon should be held in prison until he pays the amount.

A man claimed in court on Sunday that he was joking when he shoved an air compressor’s pipe in his workmate’s rectum from over his clothes when they were working. The 29-year-old Bangladeshi cleaner was said to have been tidying and suddenly decided to joke with the 46-year-old Indian when he pushed the pipe up his friend’s rectum which was switched on. Prosecutors accused the defendant of assaulting the Indian and causing him permanent disability.

An unidentified hawker was last week given a thrashing by self-confessed prostitutes after he soiled himself in the midst of having making love with one of the hookers.  The hawker is believed to have travelled from Zvimba and ended up at Tekkerai Court where he was briefly detained as he was forced to clean up his own poop. When the news crew arrived at the scene, Carol had already informed her fellow hookers about the incident and they ordered him to clean the whole room and the toilet.

A 70-year-old man and a 15-year old girl were married in Saudi Arabia after the girl’s parents reportedly sold her to the man for $20,000 (N3.1m). According to CNN, the marriage was made public after the man filed a complaint that his wife had been returned to her parents who are Yemeni and Saudi, and that he had been swindled. Authorities believe the young girl may have gotten into a physical altercation with her elderly husband, which prompted her return home.The case has prompted members of the Human Rights Commission as well as other activist groups to further their push for setting a minimum age for betrothal in these countries. They have proposed that anyone under the age of 18 get legal consent to marry. This has been met with longstanding resistance from conservative religious groups. [VN]

There was drama on Thursday when a married vendor was detained in his love nest at Tagarika Flats after being caught red-handed between the sheets with another man's wife.
Only identified as Zenzo, the vendor stays in the same neighbourhood and is alleged to have been enjoying quality time with the married woman identified as Karen. The illicit affair came to light around mid morning when they were allegedly caught red-handed in Karen's apartment at Block No. 57 Tagarika Flats in Mbare, Zimbabwe. The two were caught by Karen's uncle, after receiving a tip-off from neighbours.

A man left the community shocked after he stormed into his mother-in-law's house, dragged her out while nakéd and brutally assaulted her for luring his wife into prostitution. He was arrested and brought before the magistrate court and he  pleaded guilty to assault. On 20 November last year at around 11pm, the 31-year-old stormed into Mrs Simangaphi Moyo's house and accused her of driving his wife to prostitution.

The weird condition  is said to be of a rare cyst on his right eyeball sprouting hairs – impairing his vision and causing him discomfort every time he blinked. Medically the  hairy eyeball was the result of a limbal dermoid – skin tissue that can sprout hair, cartilage, sweat glands and even teeth. Doctors had to surgically remove the tumor – which measured 5mm by 6mm – after it began to interfere with the patient’s daily life.

For Michael Richard Smith, this is his reality. The 49-year-old lives in a 14-foot canoe; setting up shop on the Boston Harbour and rowing to small offshore docks after dark to pitch his tent and sleep. According to ABC News, Smith said he’s been bunking down in metro Boston waters for about two months now. While authorities are said to be keeping an eye on the unconventional camper, he technically isn’t breaking any laws.

An Indian man has spent nine months living in a tree because his wife refuses to say sorry for cheating on him.

The man, known only as Sanjay, walked in on his partner and a next-door neighbour in their Mumbai home. And when she refused to apologise he climbed a nearby guava tree and has been there ever since.  The 25-year-old has survived on a diet of fruit from the tree and food handed up by relatives.
"He eats and sleeps on the tree and even relieves himself from there," his sister told The Asian Age newspaper.  Police have said they can't intervene because he hasn't committed an offence.

A Nigerian man was grabbed by police at Newark Airport on Saturday after police were tipped off that he planned to 'blow up' a Delta Airlines flight to Paris. But authorities now believe that the information, that came from the suspect's wife, was a false accusation following nothing more than a domestic dispute.
The New York Post reports that Eunice Ukaegbu, 50, rang police on Okieze Ukaegbu, 58, because the couple had just had a big fight and she didn’t want him to leave the country without her.
